Reverse Manhattan

Reverse Manhattan Cocktail with Rye Whisky or Bourbon and sweet red vermouth

Why reverse a Manhattan?

The Manhattan was once an essential cocktail for all to try to master, created by Mr Black of Hoffman House (NYC) back in the mid-to-late 1800’s (a haunt where famously night turned into day before they closed).
However vermouth in modern Manhattans is often little more than, at best, a supporting act, whilst liquor historians argue that vermouth was originally the dominant flavour. If more vermouth and less rye is the message then history is urging you to reverse your Manhattan
