Rome with a View

This version of Rome With A View comes courtesy of London Vermouth fans @married.to.mixology on Instagram - a husband and wife duo, Rory & Jo who like mixing cocktails in their kitchen. Rory thinks that the Rome with a View is ‘For those who want to like negronis but can’t quite get on board’ & describes it as ‘Refreshingly bitter but still very easy going & dangerously easy to drink’. Due its low ABV, he recommends it as ‘the perfect lunchtime sip on a hot sunny day’.

It falls somewhere between an Americano & Tom Collins. This dry vermouth version of an Americano is also lower alcohol tweak on a Collins, but with Campari & vermouth instead of gin, & lime instead of lemon, retaining the refreshing Collins structure of bitter botanicals sweetened citrus & soda.

Origin Story

It is said to have been invented in the noughties by Michael McIllroy at Milk & Honey in New York City. It is said that McIllory wanted it to ‘conjure warm afternoons looking out over an ancient Italian city’. With the addition of our London Vermouth, we like to add afternoons by the river or watching cricket.
